Sacred Embodiment Center

The Sacred Embodiment Center has been an important locus of events, workshops, trainings, and a spiritual home for the Sacred Embodiment Community (SEC) over the past several years. Throughout the pandemic, Sheri Garzelli was devoted to keeping the center alive. After some strenuous years of stewarding this space, she felt the call to pass the torch, & bestowed the stewardship of the Center to the newly formed Ministry of the Eternal Rose. Borrowing words from the SEC website, “We bow to the teachers and teachings and offer infinite gratitude to all those who carry the traditions forward for the benefit of all beings.” We bow to those who have carried them this far. We offer our gratitude to the Sacred Embodiment Community for the energy & beauty you have seeded here, and we pray that our fresh energy, vision & passion will be warmly received.

We joyfully announce the Center’s new name as The Temple of Sacred Arts. In this space we intend to continue to honor and host the “sacred” and to celebrate and foster “embodiment” as a Temple devoted to ancient goddess ways and the awakening of the divine feminine in all beings.

We offer our deep thanks to Sheri Garzelli, and the many stewards, contributors & community members, who have been a part of the roots of this space, and we invite you into this next evolution. If you are/were a member of the Sacred Embodiment Community, and you want to be a part of this unfolding, we invite you to become a member of our Ministry & continue to feel belonging at the Temple of Sacred Arts.

We appreciate that change can evoke strong emotions, such as grief or concern, especially when it relates to something dear to our hearts. If there is a certain way you'd like to be cared for in this transition, we invite you to send us an email.

If you would like to be a part of a ceremonial honoring of the ancestry of this space we invite you to our rebirth ceremony on All Hallows Eve. Details can be found on the upcoming events page.

May the future hold ineffable beauty, an ever deepening weave of community, and continued healing rippling into the world & reaching the hearts that need this medicine.

"This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no “brief candle” for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

- George Bernard Shaw

Thank you for passing us this splendid torch.
